Education and Training
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in couples and relationships, my education began with an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Communication from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD).
After exploring multiple career paths in my early-mid 20’s, I decided to pursue a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with the intention of focusing on relationships. My graduate school studies solidified my interest in relational work. I became totally obsessed with working with couples and individuals to heal attachment injuries and strengthen relationships.
I have received extensive training in relationship counseling, including the Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFCT) Externship, EFCT and the Sexual Cycle, as well as Gottman Level One and Gottman Level Two certifications.
My therapeutic work is oriented towards couples and individuals who want to transform their relationship with self and others. This might include improving communication, connection or intimacy in an existing relationship, recovering from a break-up, healing from relational trauma, coping with separation or divorce, processing family of origin issues, addressing codependency, navigating the aftermath of infidelity, or adjusting to a blended family.
I am passionate about working with premarital couples who want to be proactive in strengthening their attachment bond, deepening awareness of each other’s needs, supporting productive communication, working through past ruptures, and learning conflict management skills. I enjoy working with couples experiencing sexual challenges that are wanting to reinvigorate their sexual connection.
I love working with young adults navigating the challenges of modern dating or single individuals wanting to attract a healthy partner, understand their core values in relationships and identify patterns of behavior that may be sabotaging them. I also work with individuals who are struggling with self-esteem/confidence issues, anxiety, or stressful life transitions.
